Walter Berns

Walter Berns (1919-2015) was a distinguished scholar and professor and a lifelong champion of classical liberalism, American democracy, and academic freedom. At his death he was the John M. Olin University Professor Emeritus at Georgetown University and a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute. His books include, In Defense of Liberal Democracy, The First Amendment and the Future of American Democracy, and Taking the Constitution Seriously.
