Many neotropical rainforest mammals are shy, cryptic, or nocturnal. Therefore it is often possible to detect their presence only through their distinctive vocalizations. This first audio guide to these mammal sounds—a companion to Neotropical Rainforest Mammals: A Field Guide, Second Edition—features calls of 109 species or subspecies, including almost all species of primates and commonly encountered larger mammals.
