Liverpool-to-Liverpool
Distributed for Liverpool University Press
Liverpool-to-Liverpool tells the story of an epic journey by artist Simon Faithfull from Liverpool, England to Liverpool, Nova Scotia. Faithfull made roughly six drawings each day throughout his journey, documenting the minutiae of daily life on land and sea with his Palm Pilot. This book includes more than one hundred digital drawings as well as Faithfull's wry, imagist commentary on the landscapes he was passing through and the people he encountered as he drew them—from English Liverpudlians crouched under umbrellas to Canadian Liverpudlians with mustachioed lips and pick-up trucks. Both the words and images in this fascinating book attest to the survival of the individual texture and detail of everyday lives even in our restlessly mobile world.
