Data By Discipline

Museum financial characteristics often are shaped by discipline: art museums obtain much of their income from private giving while natural history/anthropology museums are more likely to be funded by government sources. To help museums evaluate their operations accurately, this publication takes data from AAM's national financial survey and re-analyzes the statistical information according to institution type. Designed to be used with 2003 Museum Financial Information, which provides a complete overview of the national data, its analysis, accuracy, and usefulness.
