About the Author

Revd J.E.B. Mayor (1825–1910) was Fellow of St John’s College and became Cambridge’s second professor of Latin. John Henderson is Professor of Classics at the University of Cambridge and Fellow of King’s College. His publications include Figuring out Roman Nobility(UEP, 1997) and Pliny’s Statue (UEP, 2002).
