About the Author

Carolyn Grigson was principal curator of the Museum at the Royal College of Surgeons. Isobel Armstrong is professor emeritus of English at Birkbeck College, London and was the John Hinkley Visiting Professor in the Department of English at Johns Hopkins University in 2005.
