The domains of BX-C gene expression have shifted with respect to each other in the thorax and abdomen of insects and crustacea. Top, the Antp (purple), Ubx (brown), abd-A (orange) and Abd-B (green) genes sculpt the morphology of the insect trunk. Bottom, Ubx and abd-A are expressed in relatively more anterior positions in crustacea.36
