Economics, law, business, and international relations are the areas I cover. Theoretically and analytically driven projects that have a strong empirical component are of great appeal to me. Among my particular interests are evolutionary approaches and analyses that focus on emotion/affect, are informed by psychology, and that link institutions, incentives, and individuals. That said, one of my favorite parts of publishing is the opportunity to be eclectic. I also enjoy publishing books that generate debate, whether the audience is scholarly, students, or trade. I have recently initiated two series in international relations: one on International and Domestic Institutions and the other entitled Leadership and Decision Making in International Relations. Among my recent publications are: Uncommon Sense; Left Behind: Latin America and the False Promise of Populism; Darwin's Conjecture: The Search for General Principles of Social and Economic Evolution; The Perils of Global Legalism; and Combating Jihadism. I hold a PhD in political science from UCLA, an MA from the Johns Hopkins Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, and was an undergraduate at Hampshire College.

Shenny Wu is my able assistant.
